About the Event

You might be scratchin' yer head right about now and askin', "whut in the world did I just read?" Those, gentle reader, are whut're known as "Tweets" — short micro-blogging posts on the hottest social network on the web. In 140 characters (including *ahem* spaces) or less, "Tweeps" ("Twitter" + "Peeps" (a.k.a. "People")) around the globe are sharing news, pictures, links, and thoughts every day…um, make that every billionth of a second!

Networks are growing at an exponentially faster rate than when earlier social networks like MySpace and Friendster first came on the scene! Large companies, celebs, and popular brands are on board and have contributed to the collective consciousness that is affectionately known as the, "Twitterverse." (Yes, there are a gazillion of these variants of the name, "Twitter"!)

Wanna learn whut all the fuss is about? Whut you can do to join the global conversation? How to leverage Twitter to promote your design practice?

Then you need to come out to our next JavaJam! We've invited two prominent social media evangelists who live and work right here in Las Vegas! Our JavaJams are informal yet informative events tailored to our design community. In this special evening edition of our popular monthly event, you will learn:

  • Whut Twitter is
  • "Twittiquette" (the not-so-hard-and-fast rules of engagement)
  • Ways to make Twitter pay off for you
  • Some helpful Twitter helper apps (web, desktop, mobile)
  • Twitter as part of the bigger plan
